Community Discussions on FP/RH and Teenage Pregnancy
Teenage Pregnancy in the Philippines is at a worrisome high rate. Teenage pregnancy rate has constantly increased since 2000. According to the 2017 National Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS), 9% of women aged 15-19 have begun childbearing. Teenage mothers have high risks of health complications and high social costs. Children born to teenaged moms are prone to sickness and even death. Teenaged mothers, on the other hand, not only are exposed to risky pregnancy and birthing complications but also face constraints in pursuing opportunities for development.
